ENCW 125 - Academic Writing Lab

Prerequisite: CORE 120 Corequisite: Another course with a substantive research or critical paper requirement. Regular meetings will be used to work on paper drafts and discuss topics related to research and academic writing. In this course, we will practice maintaining a consistent writing and research schedule; navigating academic databases; evaluating and synthesizing peer-reviewed sources; and giving and receiving feedback on writing. We will also discuss differences in research methods across disciplines, ethical issues related to research and citation, and the challenge of developing your unique writing voice. This course welcomes students with any level of writing experience and will be organized as a learning community. Expect to share your knowledge, learn from your peers, and have fun!
