PSYC 223 - Death CR: 3 Prerequisite: PSYC 101 with “C” or higher. Seniors will need instructor permission to enroll. Much of the discourse on Death limits itself only to the physical ending of life. But Death isn’t defined only by this literal understanding; both symbolic and transient forms exist that are just as important to our lives. It is at once orderly and chaotic, an impediment and a motivator, and deeply personal and patently uncaring. And, while we are used to thinking of it only as an ending - it also signals a new beginning. In this class we will examine death through a number of uncommon lenses; starting at the pools of Winterspring and heading all the way through to the Body Farm.
